The Rodney Pyne Annual Hill Climb. The event which is held in memory of local hotelier Rodney Pyne.
The course starts at the shelter opposite the Bedford Hotel and finishes between the two car park entrances at the top of the hill. The tough 1 mile closed road course ascends nearly 200m with an average gradient of 20% enough to make the strongest riders legs crumble. This is a classic event for riders and spectators alike and has become a notible event on Sidmouth's calendar.
